If masks are so effective...

 



If masks are so effective, with the government now mandating them in shops, cinemas, galleries, pubs and other places, then why don't they open up all of the following with no social distancing, and as long as we're wearing masks, surely we'll be alright?

Sports stadiums

Theatres

GP surgeries so we can have face to face appointments

Clubs

And a whole lot of other places that are currently closed because of this unending hysteria.
Could it be because our leaders are liars, and they know deep down that most masks worn by most people do almost nothing to stop the inhalation of pathogens? And they just insist upon them to keep panic levels high, and to keep people scared, mute and obedient?

Perish the thought...

Postcard from Montenegro

Seeing that my country, the UK, has become one where a school teacher is forced to apologise for saying “Good afternoon, girls” to a class of girls, a boy accidentally scuffing a Koran necessitates the need for a press conference involving the police and local ‘faith leaders’, and citizens have their bank accounts closed if their views happen not to align with left-wing dogma, I figure it’s time to go abroad again, this time to Montenegro, one of the seven countries formerly known as Yugoslavia (six, if you don’t count Kosovo). In late July 2023, I go for one week, accompanied by a friend and David Szalay’s magnificent book All That Man Is .
